So I've decided to become a composer and create music instead. 😎
I write in my tiny home studio in Sofia - or on the second floor of a coffee shop in an old blue house in a quiet street downtown, when the kids overtake the apartment.
I was a teenager when I came across that weird jazz piano cover of The Beatles' "Yesterday." I dismissed it as a useless mess of sounds at first, but it somehow stuck in my head and wouldn't leave. And listening again and again I stopped hearing the song at all - only the pure sound of the harmonies, the brilliance of the arpeggios, the abundance of rhythm and vibes the piano was creating on its own.
I have been drawn to the tone and texture of acoustic instruments ever since, to the authentic resonances of wood and metal. Piano, cello and double bass are by far my favourites.
Johann Strauss built long-living classical works out of the dance music of his day - polkas and waltzes. I borrow inspiration from the rhythms, sounds and ideas of contemporary rock, pop, jazz and electronic music. Enjoy my work!
